I am not stepping on a plane to travel anywhere for at least a month, I am done! Scratch that, if I have an opportunity to vacation somewhere warm I may consider, unlikely, but I can dream. I flew in from NYC Wednesday night, and I am so happy to be home. R and I are such homebodies, and it's comforting to know I have no traveling in my future for an entire month at least.
Favorite Music: This song has been on repeat! It reminds me of our honeymoon on PSV, all the locals listened to music like this and I fell in love with it. So listen to this and think of somewhere warm and tropical, maybe with some rum punch in hand.
Favorite Item: I have been on a decorating kick lately, R is very grateful for this...NOT. I purchased this pendant for our foyer a few weeks ago and R and I hung it last weekend(which was a nightmare, but after 8 hours we finally got it to work). We both have such strong personalities and are so stubborn, so home projects, done together, maybe aren't the best fit for us, just sayin. However, it was worth it, because it has made the biggest difference in making the space feel more "homey" and put together. If you live locally check out Lyndon Leigh in Mt P, they're Candelabra's sister store.
Favorite Drink: Hot tea!!! This cold weather has me craving hot tea constantly. I try and drink green tea every day, I see the biggest difference in my skin when I make a habit of drinking green tea. I also love to drink Kava Root tea at night, it puts me in a serious state of relaxation.
Favorite Recipe: Well it's the season of lent, so no meat for our household on Friday's. So I have yummy meatless recipes on hand to cook on Friday evenings. The deliciousness of roasted vegetables is always under estimated. It's easy and oh so good, slice up onions, cauliflower, broccoli, and sweet potatoes, toss with olive oil and a little salt and pepper, throw them on a baking sheet and roast at 425 for 30-40 minutes.
Favorite Moment: My favorite moment comes from last week's Ash Wednesday mass. Our Bishop is incredible, he's got an incredible presence, which makes him all the more approachable and shows his humbleness. He preached about the Pope's message on Ash Wednesday, which concentrated on giving up indifference towards each other and God for lent. I found it pretty powerful.
Enjoy today and Happy Friday!
