Let me give you some advice...NEVER move! It's one of the worst things anyone can go through. I think it should be a part of prison sentences, really. Please keep in mind we were blessed to have someone pack for us. It's still stressful to watch your house be torn apart and boxed up before your eyes and move across the country.
So the movers were originally supposed to pack on Tuesday and load on Wednesday, that didn't happen because things would have gone too perfectly. So the driver called us and asked if he could pack and load on Wednesday, as he assured us our move was a smaller job and he could be done with everything in 8 hours. 12.5 hours later the moving truck finally pulled out of our neighborhood.
After doing a final walk through the house, hysterically crying, we closed our back door for the final time. I knew I would cry, and I don't think R and I let everything hit us until that moment. We both needed that moment, we just stood there together and cried. Onto our next adventure...
So we've officially moved...well kind of. We are no longer in our sweet first home in Charleston :( and we no longer have a Uhaul behind our truck! Our truck feels like a sports car now! However, we still aren't in Chicago...yet, we are at the lakehouse in Michigan for two weeks(thank the Lord!)! Then we will make the trek up to Chicago, where we will live in a hotel for two weeks(room service ✔️) and then move into our new apartment!
